Jonathan
Owner, Operator, Certified Arborist
As Shady Lane’s senior manager and second-generation owner since 1995 who oversees all aspects of this family run business, Jonathan’s in-depth arboricultural expertise is deeply rooted in hands-on experience. He is an ISA-certified arborist, a certified crane operator, and a former president and current board member of the Ontario Commercial Arborist Association. Jonathan holds an Urban Arboriculture Tree Care certificate from the Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Toronto, and a BBA in sustainable business practices from the College of the Rockies in Kootenay, B.C.

Mark V.
Senior Consultant / Sales Arborist
Mark is a seasoned ISA-certified arborist with over 32 years’ experience serving Shady Lane’s clients. He is responsible for overseeing the organization’s sales department, is a worksite crew supervisor, and a consultant with extensive knowledge in tree care, and landscape architecture for both residential properties and golf courses. Mark holds several professional certifications including those from the Electrical and Utilities Safety Association of Ontario, the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association, and the Pacific Northwest chapter of the ISA for Tree Risk Assessments. He also holds an Urban Arboriculture Tree Care certificate from the Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Toronto.
Tom
Consulting Sales Arborist
Tom has over 20 years’ experience serving Shady Lane’s clients. He is an ISA-certified arborist as well as Urban Arboriculture Tree Care certified from the Humber Institute of Technology and Advance Learning. Most recently, Tom has received his TRAQ certification.
Allan
Arborist
With more than 20 years’ experience serving Shady Lane’s clients, Allan is an ISA-certified arborist, and a certified bucket, crane, and skid steer operation who specializes in advanced rigging and large crane tree removals, tree maintenance, and planting. He holds an Urban Arboriculture Tree Care certificate from the Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Toronto where he is also an arboriculture course instructor. Allan also holds a BPHE from the University of New Brunswick.
Dean S
Plant Health Care Supervisor
Dean has been an integral part of Shady Lane's plant health care team since 2015. He is an ISA Certified Arborist. He holds a 0 – 8 Mobile Crane Operator certificate from the Ontario Infrastructure Health & Safety Association. Workplace First Aid and CPR certified by the Canadian Red Cross.
Julia
Office Supervisor
With over 10 years of customer service and administrative experience, Julia helps ensure Shady Lane maintains a high level of client satisfaction and organizes important company events such as staff training days and annual safety training.
Steve
Sales Arborist
Steve is an ISA-certified arborist with over 15 years experience in the tree care industry. After spending 10+ years working on tree crews, he has now stepped into Sales bringing a fresh perspective to quoting.
